CryoStore Doctoral Candidate, Abdul-Rashid Iddi Wins Best Poster Award at SLTB2026

CryoStore PhD candidate Abdul-Rashid Iddi from the Institute for Multiphase Processes (IMP), Leibniz University Hannover, received the Best Poster Award at the 62nd Annual Meeting of the Society for Low Temperature Biology (SLTB), held in Hradec Králové, Czech Republic, 24-26 September 2026.

His poster, titled “Fluorophore Performance in Multiphoton Cryomicroscopy of Ram Sperm,” presented research conducted within the CryoStore project exploring the performance of fluorescent probes for studying cells using multiphoton cryomicroscopy. The work contributes to the broader goal of improving approaches for visualising and understanding cellular responses associated with cryopreservation.

The poster was selected as the best poster of the meeting following voting by conference participants.

The conference also provided an opportunity to exchange knowledge with researchers working across cryobiology, including cryoprotectants and ice control, organ and tissue preservation, preservation engineering, reproductive cryobiology, and emerging cryopreservation technologies.
